mk3 s4 machine stopped sending sound

I have a mk3 s4 machine for 5 years, yesterday in the middle of working with it it stopped sending the sound out to the mixer.

 Has anyone encountered this problem and know why it happened?

There was no notification on the software about a problem.

I turned off the device and turned it back on and it went back to normal.

Faulty connection via USB maybe? My laptop's usb connection clamps are pretty loose and it happened to me as well (with other devices), which is why i always have some sticky tape around to make sure this can't happen.

This is only one possible cause.

My problem was with the sound coming out of the device and not the connection from the computer to the device.

The fact that as soon as I turned it off and on again it worked immediately without me having to tighten any cables
