SSD Mercury Pro U2 Dual EXTERNAL HD not recognized by KONTAKT 5

Hi Guys,

Kontakt 5 "Files" view does not see my new ext SSD HD which is formatted as APFS. I tried looking at other threads but it doesn't seem to say anything about APFS format and was even suggested to format in APFS. I already have 3TB worth of files and libraries in the HD.

I tried "show removable drives" to no avail. Will I have to reformat again reinstall ALL those libraries?? If there's a way through kontakt 5 to make it detect the HD without reformatting, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)

According to this article, APFS should be fine on your OS, unless it is an issue with Kontakt 5 itself...

Yeah that's what i've been reading but for some reason, K5 doesn't see it. It definitely sees my older HDs that are MacOS journaled. Hopefully somebody knows something I don't about detecting it because I really don't want to reinstall 3TBs worth of libraries.

I'm not sure K5 had support for APFS at all.

AFPS certainly works on Monterey / latest Kontakt, not a lot of help, I know!

Okay so I take it, I have to either reformat to MacOS Journaled OR...

keep it at APFS format and use my old external HD only for certain K5 libraries that rely on K5.

Unless somebody else has an idea.

Well, K5 libraries can be opened in K6 too, no problem...
