Should the Ableton instructions work for me?

I am using Reaper and am going around in circles getting my Maschine Mikro MK3 to work with it.
If I use the Ableton instructions in the user's manual, should I be able to figure out the differences.
Anyone know of any good instructions online for a newby.
I am stuck on assigning midi channels to pads in a group.

    Depending on your needs it can be easy or a bit more complicated.

    Do you want to have a single MIDI track in Reaper sending and receiving MIDI to/from Maschine-VST by using different notes to trigger different Pads for one-shots?

    Or

    Do you want to 1 MIDI Track in Reaper Per Maschine Pad with the possibility of each of those MIDI tracks playing each Pad Chromatially?
