It pains me to see you struggle. I feel like this issue could be resolved quickly with a Zoom call or FaceTime. Send me a private message if you'd like to do that.

@stergio33 (γειά σου Βασίλη) what is your Graphics Adapter?

    NVIDIA? Intel? AMD? Other?

When you first installed the drivers there is also an application installed. An application by your Graphics manufactured, in order to fine-tune your device. It also offers much more options than Windows.

If you can't find it in the Start Menu, it will be in Control Panel, or available when you right-click in your desktop. Something like this:

    Also:

In your Display settings, right under "Scale and Layout", there is a link for "Advanced Scaling settings".

Click it and make sure that the option in the screen below, is enabled.

    It's still funky.

I would try to find a friend in real life you can take a look at fix the screen resolution and black border issue.

Even if you get native access to work ok, you will have similar issues with other programs.

According to this link https://store.acer.com/en-gb/acer-aspire-3-laptop-a315-56-black the screen resolution is 1920x1080, which is more what you'd expect from a modern laptop.

@stergio33 you need to set the resolution back to 1920x1080. It would not have shipped with the wrong resolution set, so you must have lowered it yourself.

Yes the text will get smaller, but that's what happens with a small screen that has a high resolution.

Once the resolution is set correctly (the 'recommended' one, as already mentioned) then you can scale the text size so you can read it.

I appreciate all the good will of all of you that did your best to help me. Somehow I managed to set it to be satisfactory. I found choices that were not available before. So I chose 1920x1080 which is recommended, and adjusted the text size to 175% which it the highest available for this resolution. Now it ok (Ola Kala we say in Greek. Maybe that's where it come from) Thank you all very much, you are wonderful.

Please notice that setting text size to 175% could make some programs to display partly beyond the shown desktop which in turn could make it difficult to use the program if it happens !
