New Update on Tracktor Pro 3 lost all my folders

I'm desperate. Yesterday I downloaded the new software update for Tracktor Pro 3. I no longer have my 10,000 songs in folders that over the years have been in the best format for me to perform live. I perform several times at the United Nations, Weddings, sweet 16, old school events. Therefore my folders / playlist are about 15-20 for the various music I play . Not just a few genre. I keep all my music on an external hard drive. When I purchased the S4 a few months ago I also got a new laptop. Following all the instruction to transfer the music, stripes, and folders was so smooth. At that point I was just getting use to the new hardware and performed at 5 events with no issues (it was fun). I believe that every time you close the software it creates a history of how your folders may have changed along with all your hardware settings. Can I use an old saved settings in "COVERT", "BACKUP" "HISTORY" to add those playlist back into the new software? If so how can I do that? I hope I'm clear with my explanation

Not sure why it happened, but Traktor also creates backup the whole collection very often. I bet you can just load one in from yesterday and you don't have to do much.

if anyone has this problem I just found the solution. I had to go back to NI Video / Support Channel on "How to transfer the Tracktor collection, playlist and settings from another computer". This tutorial may have you back to adding all your music back on the software but having them sorted into their proper folders and all the playlist where it should be is worth it. it will take hours but better than doing everything from scratch manually where it would take days.... if you put in 8 hours a day SMH. if not it would take weeks.

Did loading a backup collection not work?

This doesn't always work... Glad to hear you were able to resolve it on your machine though!

Thank you everybody. I should have used your answers before reinventing the wheel. It probably would have been a much quicker fix. I will use your replies if this happens again for the next update. 1 more quick question. I always felt I should use an external hard drive to keep my music on it so the laptop would not struggle with used up memory. Is this a good practice to have? I have a new Mac with 2 TB of memory

No, generally the computer does not care if you have 100 or 10 000 or 100 000 music files on your disk.

There are some disks or filesystems that get slower when over 90% full.

I would hate to have an external ssd for my music. That would just be another thing to bring with me and to connect just to play some tunes.

After the gig this weekend My son advised me to try and load the update again. Don’t be afraid (something I always told him growing up lol)He said I more than likely missed 1 small step that would have added the folders, and all the settings. So guys look for my final responses once I download the new update Monday. Fingers crossed.
