Hello. I just purchased Prime Bass and I cannot make it play my written bass lines.

2023 Mac Mini M2

32Gb RAM

MacOS 13.6.1

Logic 10.8.1

Kontakt 7

Thanks for your help. Tom Donald

Click on the Prime Bass Melody file and you should actually play your own bass lines.

    A screenshot:

btw those other libraries on my laptop are custom libraries.

Thanks for your answer. I still can’t hear my line. It’s written in MIDI and Prime Bass won’t sound it. Also can’t make a sound with my keyboard.

If you can't hear any sounds, it is probably due to the settings of your CoreAudio engine.

    Just my theory.

Let me know if that theory might be true, sir.

As for the MIDI, do you usually write the MIDI melody by using the piano roll editing or with an actual keyboard?

Thanks, Milos, I use the piano roll and then activate a library to play what I’ve written. Not sure I want to go messing around with Core Audio to try and fix this. Sounds like a compatibility issue with regard to chipset and/or OS.

    Hm... yeah.

Did you try restarting your Mac?

Maybe because of some sort of bug you can't hear anything from MIDI.

Let me know if that helped.

Does Prime Bass work if you click the blue notes on the piano at the bottom of the window? If that works ok it's probably a MIDI routing problem. If that doesn't work try loading Kontakt standalone and see if that works with the on screen piano.

HI, Mike-That was interesting. I opened up the standalone Kontakt and Prime Bass seemed to work. But when I went back to Logic, it did not sound on the blue notes on the keyboard or on the MIDI pattern I imported onto the piano roll. When I hit the first blue note on the keyboard, I heard a short, clipped note, but nothing more. When I switch to another NI library on the same sampler in Logic everything plays fine.

The Prime Bass folder is located in the same place where all the other NI folders are, so I can’t imagine this is a routing problem. Perplexing. I sent in a note to NIU Support. Not sure how that will proceed. Thanks for your suggestions, however, Mike. Much appreciated. Tom
