Will NI release an ASIO driver for the S3?

I really want to be able to switch to another app and hear its audio through my headphones - like quickly listen to a song on YouTube. Right now, if I'm mixing on the S3, I have to switch headphones every time, which is a pain. It would be great if it could work like the S2.

Oops ! , sorry , apparently there is no ASIO driver for the S3 , but you could install the Asio emulator Asio4All , or try installing the free Magix Music Maker and check if that still installs the free Magix low latency Asio driver and then check if you can select that for your S3 ?.

If you want to listen to multiple sources, then the last thing you need is an ASIO driver, as gerenally they only work with one source at a time.

If you set the S3 audio interface as your main Windows sound output, then audio from any source should play through it.

Thanks - that's what I want to do but if I select the S3 as the main Windows sound output it doesn't work at all. I can use it from Traktor fine - just not as a general sound device.

With the S2 I could select it as the main Windows output and it worked perfectly. As I understand it, the driver for the S3 doesn't support using it like this? I obviously worded the question wrong and perhaps it's not an ASIO driver I need - after all it's not latency I'm having an issue with. But I figure it's some kind of driver issue...and there isn't even a driver file in the support section for the S3 whereas there is for the S2 and the S4. :shrug

Thanks @PoorFellow. It seems I don't need an ASIO driver after all. I just want to be able to use the S3 as the main sound output in Windows. Is this possible? (I assumed it was a driver issue)

I would suggest the same as PK The DJ , the VB-Audio "VOICEMEETER BANANA Advanced Mixer" (it's free/Donationware) , you can most likely route yourself out of it using the Banana Mixer ! (prior to installing software then always manually make a system restore point to revert to if you are unhappy with your doings)
