I recently upgraded to the Kontrol s61 mk3 and would like to give my older s61 mk1 to my grandson. I believe the newer software is not compatable with the older keyboard. Is the older version of Komplete Kontrol still available?

Also, can the older keyboard run on a windows 10 system with the amd ryzen 5 chip?

You can download the previous version from here - Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6 - Last VST2 supported version — Community (native-instruments.com)

Does your grandson already have a Native Instruments account? If not he'll need to create one, then he can download and install Native Access which should let him activate the software. It should work fine with Windows 10.

I use KK S88 MK1 on Win10 and Ryzen CPU and no problem. As already mentioned, if your son wants/needs to use Komplete Kontrol SW, version 2.9.6 or earlier has to be used, 3.x does not support KK Sxx MK1 anymore.

Thanks. I was able to download and install the 2.9.6 software. I have not yet had a chance to download Native Access for my grandson, but if I need to do that to activate the software, is an activation code required. I do not have the code from when I bought the S61 mk1 and is it possible to retrieve it somehow.

Is the serial for the MK1 still registered in your account? If it is you can do a licence transfer from your user account to your grandson's account. If not you'll need to raise a support ticket and they should be able to sort things out for you.
