Hi,

I'm trying to recreate the effect of a Linn closed hihat in Kontakt.

Basically the way it works is a piece of an "open hihat" sample is looped continuously, and an ADSR envelope is opened each time a closed hihat is needed. So each closed hihat is a little piece of that open hihat sample, and it's different every time. Because each hihat is unique, it gives fantastic life to the sound.

It's explained pretty well in this blog post:

I don't have the newest version of Reason, so I'd like to do something like this in Kontakt. Is it possible?

Yes. You can adjust the loop in Wave Editor, and envelope is already there by default.
