Why does guitar rig 6 only work on playback, I can't sample the amps while recording.

I installed Guitar rig 6 pro on a different computer, I followed all of the installation instructions to the "T" but I can't sample any of the sounds. I tried transferring the license to my newer computer but it didn't work, someone kindly advised me on this forum that I didn't have to do that. So the only way Guitar rig works is if I record a guitar part & then play it back. Prior to & during recording the signal is clean. Does anyone have any ideas what else I can try, thanks in advance for your time & thoughts.

Do you use GR with a DAW or only GR alone?

If you use the GR with a DAW and no sound is coming from it, it might be due to the audio engine.

Change the settings of your audio engine if you are using Mac. (CoreAudio)

But if you use PC, it is better to change to a different engine (WASAPI Shared, WASAPI Exclusive, MME) (speaking from experience btw)

If you use the amp simulator without the DAW, it might be because of the audio settings inside the GR.

Go to the Audio and experiment with the settings, it might help.

    Thanks Milos,

I appreciate your input. I am using GR with a DAW, Digital Performer on a Mac. I do have Core Audio selected, it's actually the only choice that comes up, still I only have a clean guitar sound. I also have the same inputs and outputs selected in GR as per my audio interface. Very confusing!

Maybe play with the settings and experiment of CoreAudio.

    It should help.
