Session Percussionist - Limited by Sync

I'm maybe missing something but I am very quickly regretting the purchase of Session Percussionist and about to pursue a refund but I want to triple check if I've missed something.

So, the 2 bars of instruments, can I not just drag/drop into my DAW? Do I need to record them manually? If so, I don't want to be locked to Bar 1 Beat 1 only starting at Bar 1 Beat 1 in my DAW. If I want (for example) Bar 2 Beat 3 to start on Beat 1 Bar 1 of my DAW (Presonus Studio One) I can't seem to do this - it's incredibly limiting and makes the product pointless.

Please tell me I'm missing a vital detail.......

Thanks!

Well, it is better to record them manually if you want more original beats or rhythms.

Of course, you can use the drag/drop samples as an inspiration, but then you gotta 'cook' something new out of this.

    Speaking from experience:

With my Session Prime Bassist, I listened to couple of bass samples, then i took inspiration and made more creative basslines.

    So, always remember:

Inspiration --> Creativity --> Original result!

Thanks for the reply Milos but this isn’t what I was meaning at all.

I want, for demos and trialling purposes, to be able to drag and drop or have the sample start on the bar&beat I choose.

For actual recordings (of which I have many years creative experience) I edit/create my own.

The issue I’m having is that Session Percussionist seems limited without those basic features.

    I mean, I kinda understand.

Can you at least listen to these samples, and then manually record the exact same samples on that same bar?

That's the issue, yes I can listen to them fine but if I want to then record/add to the DAW, it won't add it to the exact same bar. The 2 bar loop insists on adding as the 2 bars - if I move it along 2 beats, it insists on starting at beat 3 and beat 1, I just want to unlock the playing position...............

Have found a work around for now anyway.

    Thanks for your replies!

You mean the bars inside the DAW or the Kontakt?
