In the almost 300 performances I have done with Traktor, I have only very rarely had the problem of having to restart the program during the performance. It was even rarer for the sound to suddenly disappear. In such cases, I always immediately ran a song from my replacement medium (in my case iPod), restarted the program and everything went back to plan, but my preplist was gone and so were all my recent color tags. This is not the case when the program is shut down regularly.

Here's my feature request: Could the program be designed in such a way that it doesn't forget these things even if it is forced to stop (quit immediately), e.g. by setting up an automatic save every five minutes?

Not exactly what you want, but as a work around you can set up a shortcut to save the collection without exiting traktor.
