If you already have it installed it should - a lot of the remaining issues seem to be with new installs through Native Access but I’m on Sonoma having upgraded from Ventura, which is what I installed Komplete on, and having minimal issues apart from a graphics bug in Logic with Komplete Kontrol

@_741145 I've not had problems with Sonoma on my 2018 Mc Mini (Intel). It seems to be people with the M-series Macs that report the most problems, although a lot of people have said it's ok for them too.

@mykejb You're one of the few Ive seen who are running Sonoma on an intel Mac. Theres been quite a bit of concern about graphics issues. Right now Im tossing between going Ventura or Sonoma on my 2019 iMac as I want to try latest Logic but the graphics thing gives me pause. Have you seen any issues under Sonoma? I see on NIs compatibility list Ventura is still not fully supported. Not sure if they just havent updated it or what.

I can't see anything that is a current product not on that list? Only unsupported products are things like Absynth which is discontinued (sadly)

Thanks for chiming in. When I go to that list I find it quite confusing. I was looking for a similarity for Ventura with the two preceding OS's - It says:

macOS 11 (Big Sur) After having conducted systematic tests, Native Instruments confirms full macOS 11 (Big Sur) compatibility with the latest versions of all current products.

macOS 12 (Monterey)After having conducted systematic tests, Native Instruments confirms full macOS 12 Monterey compatibility with the latest versions of all current products.

macOS 13 (Ventura)Currently, the latest versions of the following software products are supported on macOS 13 Ventura: ....

and theres like an overview list. For a K14 UCE owner to have to check every product for compatibility that would be a very tedious task.

We will continue to conduct systematic tests with macOS 13 Ventura to offer full compatibility with our software and hardware products as soon as possible.

Im aware the last point is for AS which I still want to know about.

OK I see they have changed the wording but if you look at the list it does include 'all current products'* so it is essentially the same, I guess they just wanted to be more specific

*Note I am not including here the gazillion sample libraries because they just need to be compatible with Kontakt, not the OS, same for Reaktor ensembles, they just need to be compatible with Reaktor - it's software/apps that need to be compatible, not content

Thankyou for that. I wondered if that was the case and of course it makes sense..

Sorry if this is a double post, but I don't seem to understand the current status for Sonoma.

The compatibility statement (6 Feb 2024) says the following products are supported on MacOS 14:

    Guitar Rig 7 Pro 7.0.2

    Massive 1.6.0

    Massive X 1.4.4

    Native Access 3.8.0

    Traktor Pro 3* 3.10.0

Does that mean that all other NI products are not supported?

If I want to continue using Komplete 14 and Komplete Kontrol I cannot upgrade to Sonoma?

I am reading messages of people that have no problems after upgrading, but is that a case of "use at your own risk, no support from us if it fails."?

I am still on MacOS 12 and have some products that only support MacOS 13 and upwards. I'd prefer to jump directly to 14 asap.

Apparently MacOS 13 is also not fully supported. There is only a compatibility statement for the products that *are* supported I'm having a hard time figuring out which products *are not* supported. It's pretty confusing having to figure those out myself. Is there a list of that somewhere?

And when is MacOS 13 expected to be fully supported? It was released about 1,5 years ago, is it expected that it will take as long before MacOS 14 is supported?

MacOS 13 is fully supported for all current product lines (i.e only things like Absynth that are discontinued are not supported - although it works fine for me on Sonoma in Rosetta mode)

If Guitar Rig 7 Pro 7.0.2, Massive 1.6.0, Massive X 1.4.4, Native Access 3.8.0, Traktor Pro 3* 3.10.0 are supported then that leaves Komplete Kontrol, Reaktor, Kontakt, Maschine, FM8 and Battery to go I think - have I missed anything?

    @Jelmer

"Does that mean that all other NI products are not supported?"

If a product appears as "supported" from NI - this means internal end to end testing (At NI) has been completed, bugs/issues/weirdness noted and any product issues found in the wild (under the newly tested OS) qualify to be submitted to the official NI Support channels.

If a product is not on their official list - it has not been tested, is not viable for actual NI support and your mileage will vary if you decide to install it anyway.

The bigger issue - as you will soon find out - is that NIs stuff is generally OK - it's the other third party stuff (that you may or may not have in your workflow) out there that still does not work right.

If I was a Mac guy - and wanted to actually get stuff done - Ventura would be my stop right now.

Many thanks for the quick response folks!

My other main supplier is Arturia where the V Collection supports Sonoma but the FX Collection not yet. So I will upgrade to Ventura first as you suggested.

And Kymeia let me take the opportunity to say thanks for the NKS user library! I just downloaded the Pigments 5 addition to install right after posting this.

I'm pretty sure you cannot downgrade any Mac to any macOS. You can only downgrade to the macOS that came installed on your Mac from the factory. For me, I bought the 2023 Mac Mini in early September. It came installed with Ventura. Just a couple of weeks later, I upgraded to Sonoma when it came out, not yet having purchased my MK3 keyboard. After struggling to get KK up and running, like everyone else on Sonoma, I had to do a complete wipe of the hard drive and clean reinstall of Ventura. I had to do this with live (FaceTime) Apple support, because the procedure as outlined on Apple's Support page (see link b below) did not work for me (it would only let me install Sonoma, even after a complete wipe). That is when Apple Support told me you can downgrade only to the macOS version that came factory installed.

    This statement right here:

"Your Mac must also be compatible with the macOS that you're downloading"

...is basically code for what I am saying above.
