I'm referring to differences in the velocity curves that make them response much differently from each other.

I don't really expect these to "play like a piano," anyway, since the key action is completely different. They are closer to synth action than piano keys. This is very noticeable in fast, dynamic playing.

Regarding my previous post about some keys coming out with high velocities, here are some videos to illustrate the issues. In my case it doesn't seem to be related to black or white keys and I can reproduce it on different octaves of the keybed.

Even when I really concentrate to play average velocity notes, some come out with 128 velocities and this could be recorded in some midi files. Same happens with another person playing.
I would really like to know if your keyboards are doing the same or if this is only on some faulty keyboards.
I can return mine but really hesitate to buy a new one if this issue is not solved.
Some people mentioned this happened with an update of the firmware. Have other people noticed that?
Buying the 88 Key Fully Weighted Keybed is not really an option for me because I need to place it easily next to the PC and don't have a special desk for that.

For what its worth, I've never had a problem with velocities on my current S61 Mk3, purchased late October 2024.

    I'm on OS ver 1.87 (R8)

I see many people saying their hotter velocity lies with the black key/keys. My issue is simply with middle C, even when the keyboard is transposed. It's always the middle C playing 50-60 more volumes of velocity. Any fixes out there?

It seems to be something different, please get in touch with support so it can be looked into: https://bit.ly/NI_support_Kontrol

Someone at VI-Control is also experiencing the velocity issue with the black keys on his S61 MK3. In that thread, he asked if anyone in this thread had this issue on the S49 MK3, or are we all on the S61 MK3? Both models use the same keybed, but I guess the implementation of it and how it attaches to the chassis could be different.

Thus, sound off S49 MK3 owners!
