Do I need to get 128 gigs of ram?

What will my limitations be4 with 32 ?

If I wish to use My kurzweil patches I will have to create wav files to load into Kontakt?

Sorry for the Basic questions but I need to know what Im getting into

Thanks in advance for any help

I'd say it heavily depends on what you plan to do with it, playing live can mean just about everything.

16 or 32Gb of memory should be plenty, though I'd also keep the other specs in mind.. storage capacity and of course the CPU.

What type of laptop are you looking at? Windows/Linux x64, or Mac?

I’m using a 9 year old MacBook Pro with MainStage - 16gb of ram - and I’m not running into any issues. Playing live, the key is to use VSTs that are efficient rather than expressive. The audience isn’t going to hear the subtle differences between a tiny piano patch and a 10gb piano in a live mix. If you can live with smaller vsts you can save yourself a lot of headache. A new Mac M2 with 16gb would probably offer more power than a live player could use.
