outside, i would use a soundsystem, soundboxes, whatever could make sound for small partys 30,50-100 peeps

macbookPro 23, M2

traktor x1, mk3

traktor pro 3

sennheiser headphones, classic

Heres is my question,

which audio interface you would recommended?

how is it at home?

and for a dj setup, party with 30-100 people, do i need more then Macbook, Traktor x1 mp3 and an audio device, i mean a mixer for example? Or would the audio device be enough when we talk about the volume? ( sure a mixer has other functions)

If you have space for it, the Traktor Z1 is a fantastic addition to the X1. You have audio out and all the mixer control, no need any more to switch between the modes on the x1. And with decksaver you can just toss it into a backpack with the USB cable inside.

Sonoma is not officially supported yet.

Otherwise i would recommend a TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK2 (second hand), TRAKTOR KONTROL Z1 or XONE K2 (requiring a decent mapping for use as a mixer).

There are a lot of other options but these are the ones i know.

But i have to repeat: Sonoma is not officially supported yet.

I have a similar setup except for the headphone, and my MacBook Pro is an Intel. Just mentioning this to let you know that I'm not experiencing any problems with Sonoma, but you're on a M2..

As @Sûlherokhh recommended, I would suggest the same. But I'm personally and probably going for a Z1 since I can't find an Audio 2 MK2 second hand. But if you can, I would definitely buy it!

thank you so much for your fast responses.

I have already the x1 mk3 here, so i tried to get the audio device 2 started. I waited some days to check it and answer to you back.

unfortunately the last audio device dj 2.8.0 installer doesnt work with my system. Suprise

so i dont know if i should bye an other audio interface?

any ideas? Which interface i could use?

it so complicated and maybe i should sent the controller back to NI, what do you say?

    thanks and hearts

And i try to avoid to have two hardware, like x1 and z1. I try to keep it minimal if possible.

@Sûlherokhh what do you mean, by mapping?

do you think, it will be possible to keep just the x1 and an audio interface?

The K2 has a lot of rugged, high quality control elements, but none of them have dedicated assignments to Traktor (or any other software). A mapping file is a list of these assignments. A&H provide a basic mapping file so you can use it with Traktor, but there are quite a few custom made mappings out there that improve on it or do something wildly different.

    The 2 points to consider:

    • You need to find a mapping you like. Or make one yourself via the Traktor controller manager, which is a bit complicated.
    • The K2 has a decent built in soundcard with 2 stereo outputs (main and cue monitor).

I have used it sometimes as my only device for 2 decks + 2 FX units as my super mobile setup, although it gets a bit cramped.

Edit: Just the X1 plus an audio interface would be as minimum as it gets, but you will miss out on controls or be constantly switching modes on the x1 (FX to mixer and back). A seperate device with mixer controls is good advice, which is why i recommended Z1 or K2.
