Hi,

the following 8Dio libraries cause a lot of CPU spikes (100%) and Playback stutters / crackles on NoteOn / NoteOff events.

- Intimate Studio Strings

- Intimate Studio Brass

- Intimate Studio Woodwinds

- Warm Studio Solo Bass Clarinet

- Warm Studio Solo Clarinet

- Warm Studio Solo Oboe

- Soulful Studio Bass Trombone

- Soulful Studio Trombone

- Soulful Studio Trumpet One

- Soulful Studio Trumpet Two

Other 8dio libraries are ok, e.g.:

- Studio Suitcase

- Studio Wurlitzer

- Studio Upright

- Century Solo library family

- Studio Solo Cello (strangely also this "8Dio Studio Solo Cello" library is ok - even though it seems to be from the same family as the problematic libraries above).

I found a version on the NI forum posted by Jeremy: Kontakt 7.0.11 - With this version the libraries work fine! (Even when playing 40 notes at a time trigering 400+ voices = no NoteOn/NoteOff playback stutters and maximum 32 % CPU)

OK versions: 6.8.0, 7.0.11 all the way up to 7.4.2

Not OK versions: 7.5.0, 7.5.1, 7.5.2, 7.6.0, 7.6.1

Do you have other versions i can test? Unfortunately Native Access does not allow going back to older versions.

I have the same problem with 7.6.1 and Albion One and some of the NI Orchestral libraries. I just updated to 7.6.1 and all of a sudden the project I am currently working on needs like 5 minutes to load because of the weird CPU spikes.

Same here. Installed 7.6.1 in Friday and now I get AAE-9173 error messages in PT. It's most prominent with Session Guitarist (electric sunburst) library, but it's also there with other libraries.

Any idea, how I could get that 7.0.11 version?

Yup, same here. Kontakt 7.6.1 and Logic has massive CPU spikes. Was perfectly fine before, its happening on all sorts of different Kontakt plugins, including all of Output plugins, etc. Even Native Instrument plugins are having CPU spikes. I am on a Mac Studio with an M2 Ultra and 64gb ram, so it's not my computer. Previously (as in just a couple days ago before I updated) I could have 200 instances of Kontakt and have no issues. Now I have like 1 or 2 instances of Kontakt and Logic gives me the CPU audio engine error. I would appreciate any sort of download link to revert back until this is fixed. @Jeremy_NI Can we get a download link to Kontakt 7.0.11 until this is resolved?

EDIT: I found the forum post with 7.1.3 go here: https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/8659/any-way-to-roll-back-from-kontakt-7-1-3

Edit: I just tested with 7.1.3 and I can have 203 duplicated instances of Konakt 7.1.3 with Output analog and brass playing 4 chords, with each track having reverb and a RC-20 multi fx loaded before logic gives me a CPU overload! Looking at Logics Performance Meter before and after, I can clearly see that 7.1.3 is utilizing multi threading, while the latest 7.6.1 only utilizes a single thread which spikes to 100 percent. So for reference, 203 tracks of Kontakt 7.1.3 before Logic gives an error vs 1 or 2 instances of Kontakt 7.6.1 before Logic gives an error.

    Thanks for the link.

However, it's seems that in Pro tools 7.0.11 is not working option. (Crevice: was 7.1.3 typo?)

PT forced to go back using rosetta and even that, Kontakt

did´t work. There is just a warning: "Future application version needed"

Edit: Okey, it seems that 7.0.11 doesn't open newer libraries, but some older works.

Has anybody link to version prior 7.6.1 ?

Sorry, yes that was a typo. I meant 7.0.11. And unfortunately you're right, it doesn't work with everything and you'll get an error message saying the version is too old. I can't seem to find any other version to download. We are stuck until NI help us out.

I got message from NI. They are investigating the issue.

I got link from them to 7.6.0, but unfortunetely I can't share it here...(too new user)

It seems to be ok...at least in my system (about 4h working-session)

can you private message me it? Worst case I can give you my email so you can email me it

Okey, this morning there was one spike in cpu-usage and all sounds went to "distortion-mode".... also audiotracks.

I changed Pro Tools buffer-size and that helped (for a while). So, 7.6.0 is more usable, but not without bugs.

I must say, that NI is not prepared very well for this kind of situations. There should be access to older versions all the time. Hopefully they fix this very soon.

Crevice: I can't send the link in private message eather. Send me your email in private, so I can email it to you.

Same here, loading times are ridiculous compared to how it was before, fortunately I don't use komplete not that much so I can play back stuff fine but of course with higher cpu demand. Will test with the older version too and make a comparison with some instances loaded only version different.

All, native instruments messaged me a link, appreciate the offers. I agree with Voiceman - these links should be readily available as any single update can break any number of Kontakt instruments. It won't always be obvious as there are so many 3rd party Kontakt Instruments, so if any of us hit a snag and need to go back, we can't without reaching to support. If anything, having older versions available takes off a bit of the stress from support from having to constantly send out links to older versions.
