quick question about FX rings

inside of the maschine standalone...

if you load an FX into a slot,,, and then with mouse left click onto the orange ring or right click to toggle the orange ring(horse shoe ring)

does anyone know whats taking place when that occurs?

its something i've only just noticed??

any ideas whats occurring when the orange ring goes off and then comes back on?

When the ring is full , it’s in normal edit mode , when it’s transparent it’s in modulation(automation) mode , you’ll see down in the modulation lane a line appears.
