I use Logic Pro. Why is Session Strings not allowing me to do certain edits?

Using Session strings with Logic Pro, and when trying to make volume and velocity adjustments on a track, it has no affect, e.g. I can adjust the volume curve visually, but it makes no difference to the sound. Is there another setting I need to activate?

    It could have something to do with the Dynamic. When it’s set very low, even the volume results being low

    I haven't come across a 'Dynamic' setting yet - I will check this out. Thank you.
