What happened to the filter knob?

    Broke off?

    Not filtering?

    Loose?

If you open it up. Unless you have training and the parts and the correct tools it probably won't be a simple fix.

I would suggest finding an electronics repair service. Maybe a reputable one that you can ship the controller to online. Or search the city or nearby cities where you live. It might be worth a drive if you can set up an appointment. It is worth trying before opening it up.

Also if the knob is just not responding and still seems tight and undamaged. Try buying some Deoxit electronics cleaner. I have fixed a few knobs and buttons that way before.
