I am trying to control Cubase 12 Pro with my Komplete Kontrol 49s

I am trying to control Cubase 12 Pro with my Komplete Kontrol 49s. It is set with the midi controller as Komplete Kontrol DAW 1 in the studio setup as stated in the manual and also controls any instruments I load but no Cubase integration as stated that it should. I re installed KK and it worked then stopped when I restarted. Anyone had this issue and have a solution.
