New collector’s edition owner

This might be a stupid question, but I was curious if the e-voucher is kind of pointless for collector’s edition owners?

I realize that stuff gets released, but if you operate like most people and update every few years you’ll get what you already bought in the end wouldn’t you? I mean I guess it would be good if something came out that would help on a project that you were working on at that moment.

thanks if any collector's owners can answer this most likely stupid question.

    You are not completely wrong, if you talk about softwares. But vouchers can be eventually used also on hardwares
