Why is my Maschine Mk3 not playing recorded notes?

I'm hitting record on my Maschine, playing the notes, they're showing up on the screen, but when I try and play them back, nothing. Any ideas?

Basic suggestions:

Are you sure you didn’t select an empty sound slot before recording (maybe your instrument is loaded on sound 1 but before recording you accidentally hit another pad).

Are some fxs loaded after the wanted sound that could mute the sound?

Is the audio out for the desired sound routed correctly?

Are you on very low/high octaves and maybe the instrument you want to play doesn’t have any sound in that range?

Give us some more info (what are you trying to play (an instrument, a group), how it is loaded, how it is routed) and we could give more targeted help 😉

Okay to elaborate the line that follows the recording (don't know what it's called if I'm being totally honest) is just gone for some reason and I don't know why or how to get it back
