Kontakt 8 Chords Tool Usage in Ableton

Hello,

I have two questions related to the Chords plugin in Kontakt 8:

  1. Is it possible to use the Chords plugin to generate chords outside of the Kontakt 8 ecosystem (e.g. with Ableton stock plugins)?
  2. In Advanced mode (pic included), I have the key in C Major, but when I play this chord, it's triggering an A# note on the graph, and what appears to be a D# note on the actual keyboard, neither of which is in the C Major scale. Why is that? Should all the notes triggered in Advanced mode be in the same scale?

Thanks!

Orion

The Chords is a Kontakt 8 'Tool' and not a plugin by itself , I made an edit of the thread topic to reflect that. As for the Chord Tool problem that you described then alas I do not know the answer to that but will hope that someone else will answer that for you.

    P.S.

Possibly Uwe303's answer here is relevant (?) , quote :

    Q :

I hit a D on the keyboard, and it plays, like an Asharp or something. I don't understand… Why doesn't a D play a D chord, and maybe some keyswitches a couple of octaves away have the various voicings, modes, etc.?

    A :

that´s the concept of that chord tool, but if you want you can hover the mouse over a chord ring press record and play the chord you want on that ring, for c a c chord for d a d chord and so on as you like it, then save it for later use as a user preset. Or you use the advanced mode (click cogwheel, upper right area). then you can define some chords and select them with the coloured keys, and the green keys play the instrument, if you want to add some melodies or whatever by hand. If you don´t see the virtual keyboard try to press F3 with kontakt selected.

Thanks for your response. As far as the plugin itself, that makes sense and is super helpful. Regarding the Chord Tool in Advanced mode, I appreciate sharing the quote. It doesn't fully answer the question, so to your point, hopefully someone else will be able to chime in with insights.
