Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk1 keyboard Not working in MIDI mode
My Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk1 keyboard doesnt seem to be working in MIDI mode at all. I'm trying to connect it from its MIDI out to the MIDI in of a Novation Peak & Korg Microkorg but it doesnt seem to be sending any signal out at all.
I've tried everything i've seen online - tried to update the firmware (firmware updater said it has firmware 73 - seemed odd as the latest firmware updater on the NI site is firmware 69), used the controller editor to make sure its set to MIDI channel 1, made sure its turned on with the USB Cable out, turned it on with the USB cable then took the USB cable out.
Yet when plugging from the MIDI controller to the hardware synths mentioned above i get nothing. I know the MIDI Ins of the synths work as they respond to Ableton. I've tried setting the Novation peak to listen for MIDI on every channel it can do…. just nothing.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hello,
maybe this helps:
if you want to use it while connected to a computer you have to route midi through with a daw or midi ox unfortunately i can´t find the help article right now describing it
P.S. here it is:

That seems to only apply to sending MIDI out to a hardware synth AND USB to computer at the same time.
I'm trying to use the Komplete S61 to control a Hardware synth via MIDI only - no USB, no computer.
There is a guide here, but i'm sure ive done everything it says

In order to use the KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series as stand-alone MIDI controller, you have to disconnect the USB connection from your computer and use the NI Power Supply. Additionally, the software and firmware must meet the following requirements:
- Firmware 56 or higher has to be installed on the KOMPLETE KONTROL MK1 keyboard. You can download the 'Device Updater for KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series 1.1.2' from this page. You can find further instructions on how to update a firmware in this article.
- Controller Editor 1.8.0 or higher has to be installed on your computer. The latest Controller Editor version is included in the latest KOMPLETE KONTROL software update. You can install it with Native Access.

Yeah the first link I posted is exactly that, the second was just an option cause I did not understood if you want to use it stand alone or with computer connection - anyway. If you tried all that, also defining a standard midi template for stand alone mode, as suggested on the article it should work. If you have a sound card with midi in you could try to midi monitor if there is something at all coming through if you press a key or turn a knob. Normally daws have midi monitors or at least indicators, or you can use a program like midi ox. Just for research of course cause you want to use it stand alone. If you connect it to your computer is the standard stand alone template still as you've set it?

Just to test if it makes any difference have you then tried using keyboard in KOMPLETE KONTROL software mode and then rather than unplugging it then Press SHIFT + INSTANCE on the keyboard. That should switch to Midi mode.
