To whom it may concern,

No time to approach the product support. Don't mean to seek advice, just want to state my opinion on this:

Running Maschine 3.1.1 with Windows 11 and with Macos sequoia 15.3.2 (Mac Mini M4). Hardware is Maschine MK3. I need to have my projects, groups, sounds consistent across two (3 preferrably) Computers.

With Windows 11, Maschine 3 Software runs just fine.

With Macos,

Maschine 3 always crashes upon exit, standalone and as vst3 in Cubase.

My Groove Agent plugin is unusable in Maschine 3, AU and VST3, vst3 is worse.

Maschine 2 Software just runs fine.

Installing Maschine 2 after Maschine 3 even screwed up the Finder: In both versions file>save now duplicates the file name suffix😜, even after proper uninstall of Maschine 3. I can live with that, no need to reset macos for that. Wondering what would have happened if i had installed Maschine 2 first.

I deeply regret my purchase of Machine 3 and Maschine Central. This purchase cost me 1 week of lifetime and 100 Bucks and it blocked my creativity. I have only trust in Maschine 2 now. The good thing with Maschine 2 is that there are no upgrades anymore to worry about😌.

Only just done 1st big project on M3 this week. I've been making music with mac for 20 years now. Never, ever known software lag like this, and……. my suspicion is its not even the maschine software, it's that projects that use Kontakt 7 or 8 take like seconds to change groups via the maschine unit. and the playhead lags with 75% cpu available. I never knew a playhead lag until the issues with Kontakt 7.10 I think it was. So definately, back to maschine2, and no more evolution fr my setup.

trying to get a couple of good projects out of Maschine 3 back into Maschine 2. You can’t save groups and reopen them in Maschine 2, it completely crashes Maschine 2 on trying to open the group. Will have to export each snapshot, and each sound lane as midi data….
im hoping M3 will be fixed, like was done with the extreme kontakt lag in the past, and that it’s not just that it’s written on too bloated code.

Same issue here. Maschine 3 always crashing on exit. It also detects changes on each project even though it's just loaded and totally untouched. (dirty flag)
After closing it asks to save due to changes. Declining to save causes crash. (With saving it doesn't)

Furhermore you have to use VST3 for some plugins to work. I.E. Massive X. It denies to load sounds if VST is disabled. Looks like the Library is hard linked to the VST-Plugin. That's annoying if you like to stick with Audio Units only.

    Manual page 47

Manager pane: use NI Audio Units checkbox (macOS only)

On macOS, the Manager pane contains an additional Use NI Audio Units checkbox. Check this box to include the Audio Units (AU) versions of your Native Instruments plug-ins in the software’s Plug-in menus and in the controller’s Plug-in Browser:

    • If this checkbox is deactivated (default setting), the AU versions of your Native Instruments plug-ins are still listed in the list above, but they are deactivated (checkbox unchecked): These plug-ins won’t appear in the Native Instruments submenu of the Plug-in menus (software) or in the Plug-in Browser (controller). Additionally, the remaining entries for Native Instruments plug-ins (VST) won’t display the (VST) mention next to their name.

    • If you enable the Use NI Audio Units checkbox, all Native Instruments’ AU plug-ins are activated in the list above and are available for loading in Maschine. To distinguish them from the VST versions, plug-in entries in the Native Instruments submenu of the Plug-in menus and the Plug-in Browser will display either (VST) or (AU) after their name.

You can also enable or disable Native Instruments’ AU plug-ins individually in the list via the checkboxes described above. As soon as you allow one of them, the Use NI Audio Units checkbox is automatically activated.

    Does that help?
