wanted to sort out some tracks but "delete" needs a lot of time - what could be the reason?

hello everybody,

wanted to sort out some tracks, the 1st time in Traktor4, and wondered how long the simple right-click-delete needs 😮

couldn´t imagine that it was that long with Traktor3, because there it was my 1st Traktor and in the beginning I added/deleted a lot of my CD+Vinyl-converted-collection

has someone else the same behaviour? or is it known as "issue"?

an maybe important info: only started Traktor4 for this "project", S4Mk3 was turned off the whole time, and as always Firefox in the background

would be glad to get feedback from you community

    I seem to have found the reason:

    I did the sorting and deleting in the “Artists” tree and apparently this means a lot of work for Traktor. If I do the same in the track collection, it's very fast, as I'm used to from Traktor3.

    So another lesson learned

    Are you deleting the files just from the collection or also from the disk?

    I think if you delete them just from traktor, traktor will read every file and remove the meta data from them.

    What I did the last time I delete 10 000 songs was to use a external player like foobar2000, set up key bindings for delete. Then in Traktor just Check Consistency. I don't remember it taking long. But maybe I also just went away because it was a single long task?

    very good idea with foobar2000, I´ll take a look because your mentioned delete-option is interesting

    the Check Consistency afaik should be used after many delete/adding so it wouldn´t cost extra-time for me (doing other things in this time), but the single deleting at the moment always some seconds is annoying

    PS: good to see the big number by someone else 😁
