Traktor X1 Mk3 - hot cue mappings

Hi,
I recently bought an X1 Mk3. Years ago I used an X1 Mk1 and the number buttons were mapped to hot cues 1 - 8. Now only hot cues 1 - 4 are mapped. I want the old mapping but can't for the life of me figure it out. Age, it would appear, has caught up with me…help!
Ideally I'd like the X1 Mk3 to behave exactly the same as the X1 Mk1.
Many thanks.

You can set the NUDGE buttons to hotcues 5 and 6. That's it.
I have them use tempo bend and beatjump, but it's up to the user.

thank you so much for helping me!
I'd still like to find a way to get hitches 7 & 8 if anyone can help.

There are two paths you can follow:
- Overmapping (using custom assignments to the mapping in controller manager)
- QML coding (adjusting the qml mapping files in the qml folder)
Either way you will have to override some of the standard functions, like CUE and REV, which will then not be available anymore.

If you don't need to delete hot cues that often, you can also use shift + number to get to the other hotcues, if you change the setting for it.

thank you all for your help.
- Overmapping (using custom assignments to the mapping in controller manager)
I've been playing with this for hours and am getting nowhere. Any help is greatly appreciated!

This is a sample mapping for hotcue 8 on REV for deck A. Note that the SHIFT assignment does NOT have the box for override checked, so that the SHIFT button still works for the qml commands underneath. You can do exactly like this for the other hotcues and the other decks, although you have to determine the actual deck layout beforehand.
Note: You can select different colours for your hotcue types than i did. The modifier conditions show which assignment uses each colour.

thank you so much for this. But I'd still like to know how you change the mapping yourself if it's not too complicated. The NI website says it's simple but I can't figure it out.

Just read the TSI file in the controller manager. The assignments i listed are for a single button, for HotCue8. Just do exactly the same for the other hotcues you want to have. And then all of it again for the other deck. Only the SHIFT assignment does not have to be duplicated.

Hi,
thank you for the TSI. file. Hotcue 7 and 8 still do not work. I press them and they're still CUE and REV on deck A. :(

when I press REV I still get REV not Hot cue 8. Same with CUE . I get CUE not Hot cue 7. :(

Did you assign the mapping to a controller? Top right in the in / out port.

Make sure you only have a single x1mk3 mapping in the dropdown list; the one with the overmapping assignments i made. Delete the one without any overmapping assignments.
