Help with loop shortening (1/2x key on Numark 4trak)

Hello,

I seem to be having a problem with my loop shortening key. The in/out functions work just fine, but a lot of the time when I try to cut the loop by 1/2 it automatically goes to 1/32 beat. The only way I can get around it is to physically cut it under the song tracking using my mouse.

Just wondering if this is a common glitch in the software, or maybe its my board. Not quite sure because sometimes it just decides to work properly.
