Can I combine Scarlett audio interface with Traktor Kontrol Z2

I have a Mac that runs DAW software using Focusrite audio interface.
is there any way i could also connect the Kontrol Z2 so that my machine can do both daw and DVS vinyl through one set of speakers, or do they I need two separate computers & speakers?

hi, the only way I’ve been able to get a FR input to flow through to the outputs so far has been to create an audio track in a daw and then turn the monitor option for the audio track on.
i wonder if i need to simply introduce a 2 channel mixer to the set up - I would then have the Z2 mixer and the focusrite going into that, and then route the mixer’s output to the speakers.
What I ideally want is to be able to listen to vinyl without having the computer on at all.0

Does your Focusrite allow you to route an input straight to an output? Then you could just connect a cable from the z2 output to the focusrite.
If not, you would not to combine the z2 and focusrite into a single virtual audio device. That is because traktor can only use a single one at a time.
In mac os that is called "aggregated audio device". On windows you need a 3rd party app. For example asio4all or voicemeeter banana.
After you created the new virtual audio device, you can select it in traktor and choose the z2 for monitor and dvs input, and the focusrite for master output.

I guess one major technical issue is that the computer (apple mac) is going to see the focusrite and the Z2 mixer as competing audio devices.

That should work.
Or maybe connect the output of the focusrite to the aux/mic input of the z2? And then connect the speakers to the z2.

I wonder if the z2 could become my primary audio interface? Most of the time I’m not recording external audio anyway, so that might work?

Try it out.
