Problem detected with Kontakt 7 & 8, Maschine 3...

Hi everyone, here's what I noticed with Kontakt & Maschine 3.
When I start these programs (Kontakt & Maschine 3) before connecting my external SSD, I notice that Kontakt freezes at startup. But when I unplug the external SSD, I notice that Kontakt launches immediately. This will be the third time this has happened to me. The last time was with Kontakt 8, now the same problem with Maschine 3... Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

    I have a bunch of instruments and expansions on an SDD. I used to hit a lot of hitching and found that the thing would constantly sleep and need waking. Once I prevented it, all was good.

    Hello, thank you for your reply. I don't think this will fix my problem. My external SSD works fine. I just didn't connect it before launching Maschine 3.

    Sometimes these plugins have to scan and rebuild tag database when you launch a host. Launch them standalone before launching a host application.

    Kontakt 8 now scans Loops and Samples, in addition to instrument libraries.

    If it's scanning, then you may have to just let it be for a few minutes (or several, depending on the performance of your external drive and the bus it is connected to) to let it complete that process.

    If on macOS, you should also check permissions.
