Hi there, I have a Mashine Mikro MK2 or maybe it's MK1, stored for along time. It was a gift from a friend. Now, I'm 53 y/o and looking for some fun and hobby at this point of my life and I think having this mashine running will do the work big time. Can anyone tell me how it suppose to start ?? If I'm understanding right I have to download any of the libraries offer in the NI page ?? Also, seeing that the support for this model is not longer provided. Will it be worth to buy any of these softwares ?? I mean, my point is if it will work for sure with this old model, I just dont want to waste money on it if will not work. Can anyone guide through here ?? Thank you so much in advance and have tons of fun !!

First steps to take: download Native Access (the central program for registering, downloading, installing, managing ALL Native Instruments stuff) from NI website (create an account if you don’t have one). Once you installed Native Access, if you register your Mikro you should see what programs you already own (probably Maschine 2 and the starters pack with some FXs and some synths). And also add the free package Komplete Start (with other instruments/fxs)

Registering the Mikro is fine…..if it's not already been registered by the friend.

Does "a gift from a friend" mean that the friend had previously used it, and donated it without transferring the license, or did the friend buy it new for you for xmas, birthday etc?
