Presonus 24c, Presonus 3.5, Macbook Pro and X1 Mk3 - Cueing and Sound Quality

Hi all

I have Traktor Pro 4. I connect my MBP to my 24c audio interface via usb3, and connect my speakers via jack to jack balanced cables to the ai. I then plug my headphones into the headphone socket of my ai. My Master output is set to 1 and 2.

Now, the issues I am having is that cue-ing quality is awful. If i plug my headphones direct into computer, sounds great but into ai sounds very muffly. Also if I choose line 3 and 4 as my output in Traktor, quality is way better.

How can I achieve the best cue quality, be able to adjust the cue volume/balance and best master output quality based on my setup? Do i really have to buy a z1 in order to do this, or am I missing things in the initial setup?

Any advice would be great.

    Mhh, did you create an aggregated audio device to use them at the same time in traktor? Maybe this is the issue. Could be they run in different bit or hz range?

    Presonus Studio 24c seems to only have 2 channels out, best is a device that has 4 channels. 2 for master, 2 for cue. No z1 needed.

    I know that aggregated audio device should "just work", but my personally experience on Windows is just trouble.

    No, I haven't done the aggregated device, is this possible to do in Traktor Pro?

    Ah, re-reading your post now and notice I did not catch the "ai" part. (Audio interface)

    Somehow I thought I would connect headphones to computer and speakers to the Presonus at the same time. Forget what I wrote about aggregated device in that case.

    26c seems to have 4 channels out. So it should just work.

    When you monitor the "main" channel via headphones from the 26c, does that also sound muffled? Like can you use headphones on the Presonus in decent quality at all?

    Mmm, Ill have to check as I have only used it once. But Im not even sure I have set it up right tbh. I don't quite get how I would set up the "Output Monitor" unless setting its as my line outs, but thats not where Im plugging my headphones in…

    I will screenshot tonight when I try again.

    If I understood the Presonus website correctly you can toggle between 1/2 and 3/4 somehow. Not sure if it's software or a button on the device. I would advice you to read the user manual.
