Using Standalone MIDI Mode with KONTROL S61 MK3 in Mainstage

Using Standalone MIDI Mode with KONTROL S61 MK3 in Mainstage
Hello,
I have a question regarding the use of the KONTROL S61 MK3 in standalone MIDI mode with Mainstage. Whenever I launch Mainstage, the keyboard automatically switches to DAW mode. I'm wondering if there is a command or setting to switch to standalone MIDI mode, and if this feature is currently available or if it's something that might be considered for a future update.
I rely on this basic function for my live performances and it's crucial for my setup. Your guidance on how to achieve this or any information on future updates would be greatly appreciated.

Manual is here and there is both an on-line and a download and the manual got a section on MIDI Mode here !
Quote :
You can manually switch your keyboard to MIDI mode at any time: Press SHIFT + SETTINGS (MIDI) to enter MIDI mode:
Automatic Switch To MIDI Mode :
You keyboard will automatically switch to MIDI mode in the following situations:
- If you close the stand-alone Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol application.
- If your keyboard is controlling a Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol plug-in loaded on a track in your DAW, and you switch to another track without any Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol plug-in loaded.
- If there is no USB data connection between your keyboard and your computer. You can then use your keyboard as a stand-alone MIDI controller.
As soon as a Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol instance is found on your computer (running as a stand-alone application or as a plug-in on the track currently selected in your DAW), your keyboard automatically switches from MIDI mode to Plug-in mode and lets you control this instance.

I have a similar question. I take from the manual section quoted above that if the S-series mk3 keyboard doesn't detect that Kontakt or Komplete Control is running, it will open in (or switch to) MIDI mode so you can control plugins directly via the USB MIDI connection. But what if you occasionally want to control a hardware synth connected to the keyboard's 5-pin DIN MIDI out? The manual excerpt suggests (albeit not very clearly) that the only way to do that is to unplug the USB connection between the keyboard and the computer. In practice I am finding that to be true -- the keyboard appears to send MIDI out of the 5-pin DIN MIDI jack only if the keyboard-to-computer USB cable is unplugged (and the keyboard is connected to a different power source). Is this normal behavior? If so, I would have hoped for some type of hardware or software switch on the keyboard to toggle between USB MIDI and DIN MIDI rather than having to unplug the USB cable to access the DIN MIDI (and then plug it back in to go back to controlling soft synths via USB MIDI). I haven't found any such switch, but I could easily be missing something.
