Midi controller recording

Hi guys, Is it possible to record controller movements with a midi controller? In my case I wanted to record a cut off filter movement with a Knob from the Alesis VMini. I can use the Learn function to operate all parameters with the VMini, but I can't manage to record them. I would be grateful for a tip.

Modulation (what people often call Automation) cannot be recorded from external MIDI.

It's probably the reason there is no "AUTO" button on the software, only in the Hardware controllers.

Actual Automation cant be recorded period, in any way, in Maschine Automation is external.

Hi D-One, thanks for the info. It's actually a shame that you can't record automations with other controllers. For me the knob on the Mikro3 has too coarse a resolution. I can't get a smooth filter flow with it. It would also be cool if you could draw automations as diagonal / straight lines. At least I can't get straight lines with the freehand tool (the pen). Can this perhaps be changed in future updates?
