Fresh install of Kontakt 6 VST2? Is it possible?
I just moved from my old Mac Thrashcan to the new Mac Studio. I tried to install the rest Kontakt 6 but found that it's only installs in VST3. I have my old projects in VST2 version on my old computer and surprisingly the Ableton doesn't open the VST 3 version automatically. Is there a current solution for installing the good old Kontakt 6 in VST2 version on a new computer.
All help is highly appreciated!

Sorry , I know very little about Macs and what a Mac Studio is, but when I look it up then it appears as it could be one of them Apple Silicon M2? M3? chip computers. If so then I am not sure if this maybe applies ? :
Quote Jeremy_NI (1) : VST2 is not supported natively on M1 Macs, you need to run Ableton in Rosetta mde to open your old projects with VST2 plug-ins: How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta
Quote Jeremy_NI (2) : For most plug-ins, like NI plug-ins, VST2 are only supported in Rosetta mode. How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta
For the plug-ins that are natively compatible with M1 processors, like Kontakt, only the VST3 is supported, VST2 will not be available.
Otherwise , if it is not a Apple Silicon related problem then it could possibly be a problem with the DAW not listing the VST2 because it possibly have same ID as the VST3 . Ref. Discussions not about Ableton but about principle : Ref1 , Ref2 , Ref3 NI forum .
Else , always state both computer type info and specific OS version !

Just copy the VST2 .dll (or whatever format Mac is using) from your old computer to the new one.
