Hello,

Does anybody know why I can't use the up and down arrows on my typing keyboard to browse Komplete Kontrol? It works fine in Cubase and Abelton, but not studio one.

Quick update as of 10/24/23 - Just heard back from Studio One tech support. They said that it's a known bug and they are looking to fix it but do not have a time frame yet.

Kind of a HUGE bug if you ask me, especially for all the people that just got the new update that want to use Komplete Kontrol. Well...Back to Cuabes for now!

It is either a Studio One bug, either a misconfiguration by you, in its options.

I don't use Studio One so i can not tell you exactly where to look, but, you should check Studio One options for a parameter similar to "use keyboard navigation" etc.

Not sure if anything changed with Kk 3.0 (I will probably never install it), but something similar was already happening with previous versions, and it’s not a bug: if you don’t firstly click on the preset list, Studio One doesn’t know what you want to control with the arrows. It could be the Komplete Kontrol browser, the Studio One browser, the track selection,…

What you had to do is simply clicking with the mouse on the element you want to control (in your case the presets list in KK) and in this way telling it what the arrows must do.

I don’t know if it is your case, but worth a try, since it just takes 1 second

Thank you for the update. So it isn’t working even by clicking on the KK presets list?

Did they tell you if it’s specific only with KK3.0? Or Studio One 6 latest update?

You can click on a preset and open it in the Komplete Kontrol plugin, you just can't go up and down on that preset list. It's specific to Komplete Kontrol 3.0. I'm not sure about other S1 versions, but the issue is for sure in V6

ok so another update. I figured out how to use the up and down arrows in komplete kontrol 3.0 in Studio One but I had to remove the "up" and "down" actions from the respective arrows. Meaning I went into the keyboard shortcuts and for the "up" action, I had to remove the key command of the up arrow that was associated with up. I left both up and down blank. Komplete kontrol works great, but now in the midi editor, I can't use my up and down arrow keys to move notes up and down. Any help would be appreciated!

I think you misreaded my suggestion before.

The fact that you removed the up and down actions could mean they were “used” by Studio One as programmed by default (click on a thing, up and down control this thing). You have to tell Studio One a “context” in which the actions will be done.

What I meant by “click on a preset” wasn’t to load it. You click once (let’s say to “select” the kk browser), without loading and at this point the up and down move in the preset list. As you click on a track header and at this point the up and down move between the tracks.

Read again my first post to see if it’s clearer.

Are you sure Presonus meant that exactly this behavior has a bug? Or that they even understood what you meant?

Yes, I understood what you meant. I think what Studio One meant was they will update it to be able to use the up and down arrows within the context of the KK window like any other daw, not needing to change your key commands. We shouldn't have to do that. It is definitely an S1 issue, not a NI issue.
