Access is stuck when updating the latest products

Hi

Have been using NI Komplete for ages, updating the various products via Access without a problem, but in the last couple of days I get very weird behaviour from Access - I got notifued on 2 products that needs to be updated.

I try to update them, but the process simply gets stuck. The progress bar says "Less than a minute remaining":

but after some time, when nothing happens, the status changes to "paused" or "queued".


I tried stopping and restarting the update, restarting the computer, redownloaded Access, but the outcome stays the same.

Any thoughts on what is wrong here?

Computer is MacBook Pro 16" with Apple M1 Pro, Latest version of Ventura 13.6.4.

    Alas you are not the only one having problems with these specific updates. You could try using a VPN to see if that changes anything.. (have seen UK suggested as server to try)

    Server related problems theoretically ought not exist outside of the sales (where they have been seen happening). I will try to notify N.I. to take a look (as a Moderator I am just another user here)

    Still , it could still be a localized issue with download on your computer even if there has been a coincidence I can't tell at the moment.

    The latest Access update solved this.

    I deleted the faulty products, and after Access relaunched its updated version, it reinstalled them with out an issue

    Did anyone find the answer to this? I'm using an Intel Mac and just did 6 updates. They do eventually complete but stay stuck for what seems like hours - often saying less than a minute to go. I have a 500m/min connection that flies with everything else I use.

    I'm not sure anyone can give one single thing that affects the speed of updates because it's so dependent on the multitude of various factors in how your system is setup.

    Obviously the download speed of your connection is a factor, but that's only really relevant during the very first part of doing an update prior to formally starting the installation process. Even then, and for the rest of the process, you're subject to the speed and efficiency of your target storage drive as it begins to unpack and install the actual update and the huge number of individual sample files, which is typically the longer portion of what occurs. Additionally, if you're installing on an operating system drive, it's competing with all other normal operating system housekeeping functions such as memory paging that can slow things down. Both activities are subject to inspection and verification by active virus protection services you may be running which can slow things down considerably depending on your virus protection software.

    Mine is a simple system. "Music" gets its own 2TB fast Samsung USB-C SSD. It worked flawlessly until a few months ago. I also do the same with my Adobe cache. Lightroom has a 3TB cache on its own disc and that works blindingly quick when I return with 500 Gb of photos and also have to upload them to the cloud.
