I recently, and reluctantly, switched to Rekordbox and an old Pioneer DJ controller because they offer features that are not yet available in Traktor, which I have been faithfully using since 2010. One is track separation, which Algoriddim Djay, Rekordbox, Serato and Virtual DJ already have. The other one, which seems super simple to implement, is allowing users to add text to hot cues. I hope NI will make my switch a temporary glitch.

Good afternoon, is there any way to incorporate stems to be used while the track is currently being played? This would be great for all of us.

Live stem separation is on the roadmap. But no one knows when that will land.

After years of dedication to NI, i might have to switch over to serato now. desperately need stem separation in Traktor/Z2 , as we're getting left waaaay behind. There should be no voting required for this feature, it should be industry standard out of the box by now. Just do it now, as a priority, we're not even playing catch up, we're getting lapped now, and it's just sad at this point.

This is how they will lose in the game. I have already moved to Serato from today cause their Traktor Pro 3 is still outdated

@Friedemann_NI do you have any progress/any news on stem separation for Traktor Pro?

I've been playing with djay Pro and my S2 Mk3. The real time Stems separation in there isn't amazing quality but it's plenty good enough for live mixes and mashing. I was seriously impressed that my 2014 MacBook Pro didn't break into a sweat either.

I struggle to get on board with the workflow over there on the dark side but the technology is fabulous.

One day, in Traktor. One day. We live in hope.

This pass embarrassing at this point

Everyone run pass traktor . 🤦🏾‍♂️

right now it look like native instrument give up on traktor dj software, we was the best and above everything and now we are behind everything. I have been using traktor from 2006 when it was yellow only could used on a pc.

All other dj software as steam integrated in their dj software over a year and more now but still nothing added to traktor software. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

demucs is correctly implemented fast af with hardware acceleration. AFAIK Serato uses demucs thats why they sound a bit better than the VDJ 1.0 Stem seperation and DJay Pro who both implemented the old Spleeter version. VDJ impoved by released their 2.0 stem seperation 2023. They are several other libraries like open-unmix by sigstep. (The compony who released the dataset dumucs got trained with)

They are easy to integrate. Its already integrated by iZotope RX8 (owned by NI). They could simply swap code lmao

Something is definitely wrong when my goto DJ Software to run with my Traktor S8 is now Virtual DJ.

    🤦🏻‍♂️

How did NI/Traktor get this so wrong?

You were years ahead of all the competition and now look where you are.

    🤷🏻‍♂️

This needs sorting before everyone jumps ship from Traktor and moves to the competition.

IT'S A LOT EASIER TO KEEP HOLD OF TRAKTOR USERS, THAN WIN THEM BACK AFTER THEY'VE EXPERIENCED THE OFFERINGS FROM THE COMPETITION.

Come on NI....... We're all rooting for you, but can't stay loyal forever without the updates and features we deserve.

    🙏🏼

    same here ..

    traktor is very dissapointing ..

all the updates are just bug fixes and few lame features thats not even neeeded

the pattern player is embracing . without the way to add more patterns .. or custom ones ..

    no stems seperation yet ..

controllers prices are still high ..

traktor is becoming the joke of the industry

my fellow dj friends see me djing with traktor and say im old school .. need to move to serato …

its just share really .. i want to buy a new controller soon after 10 years with the s8

is there any controller soon ? some news ? traktor 4 ? .. whats goin on ..

This is what happens when you get acquired by a PE firm and no longer have total control of a roadmap that requires innovation/budget/resources. The silence and lack of transparency from the team is very surprising though, but says it all. As a product engineering team, how can you NOT want to work on this feature?!?!? Makes no sense.

Z2 still is such a dope piece of hardware where the only thing that was missing was flappy paddles for the FX. With no upgrades coming to that either, I guess I’ll get new software and hardware now. 😔

Exciting news, everyone. Built-in stem separation has been successfully implemented in Traktor Pro 4. We previously mentioned that this feature was in beta, and now it's available for all of you to try. You can get it here:

I'm aware that this thread is about instant live stem separation, while the feature we implemented is intended to be used during set preparation. Our Product Manager has provided more details on this here.

Thank you again for all your votes and feedback!
