Native Access 3.8.0 now live!

Well, I agree.
The installation of 3.8.0. version is rather quick and smooth.
Still expected the removal of the ads or at least the option to remove ads.
I mean, you already have a shop icon.
Just click on it and BOOM!
You are in the NI site.
You can buy whatever you want much more quickly now!
There is litteraly no logical need for ads inside the Native Access.

Ads in NA don't really bother me. It's not like it's getting in the way of anything or have to look at NA every time I open up a DAW or load an instrument. The banner takes you to the deals page for holiday season or whatever it's advertising, the shop always goes to the generic shop page.

I can understand, but when you click on the shop icon, it already shows the deals on the site.
Howerer, I respect your statement.

Thank you for flagging this Mike! I'll pass this on to my team. We're noticing that the update flow this time around isn't too smooth and are looking into it.
We did make a change to start the NTK Daemon that had been installed in case that isn't running as opposed to constantly reinstalling it. Perhaps this is an issue. If you can DM me and send a VOD or Reproduction Steps/Screenshots, I can pass that over to my team for us to try and reproduce this!
Thanks for reaching out!!!

Hi Ryvius! Please reach out to our support team here, and make sure to send over the daemon.log file in that issue. You can find the daemon.log file by:
- Open Finder
- Press CMD+Shift+G
- Enter ~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/NTK
daemon.log file should be in that folder. This contains information as to why your downloads might be failing, and we can follow up with you to resolve your issues. Hope that helps!!

I'm also seeing this 'Download failed' error with v3.8.0 on macOS 14.2. Have posted here:
Also raised a ticket - happy to help the engineers figure this out.

I'll file a bug internally and see if we can reproduce the issue here.
Bear in mind, if you full screen an application, the app memorizes its original size before it was full screened. This is standard Windows behavior and not something we can resolve. If you're resizing to arbitrary (and supported) sizes and not having it snap to edges/halves, then it should retain the size to what you sized it to, and as such we need to fix it.
Thanks for flagging!

Thanks Gordon, we'll take a look!
Bear in mind that as we go into the Holiday season that we may react a bit slower than normal, but we'll still take a look!

Hey, appreciate the feedback on the banner.
We'll remove the banner mid January for everyone in real time. We're happy with having something similar in place somewhere, but we want to make it a feature rather than something that feels intrusive. Native Instruments has a lot to offer, not just sales, and we want to share that with you.
A few examples, but we work with artists to make instruments. We have fantastic partners who make fantastic tracks with our products. We have dedicated team mates who share product and business insights. We have awesome guides on how to make use of your products. And so much more. We want to share this with you as well, and help inspire you as you use our tools and continue to make music, performance or production, professionally or casually.
However all of this is scattered in different areas of our ecosystem. So our future goals for the banner are:
- Repurposing it to operate as an announcements section, where we share cool stuff that's going on (including community events, product insights, sales/deals/offers, launches, various content, releases, etc.)
- Make it a more natural part of the experience and make it feel less like an "ad".
- Make the delivery of this information meaningful yet exciting, and potentially personalized.
I hoped we could've released our improvements to the banner earlier. But we're learning a lot from this experience. I'll share even more insights as to what we learned if there's interest for it in a future DevTalks/Quarterly Update entry, so let me know if you'd like to get a better overview as to why we did this, what we learned, and what's next!

Well, I can respect that, Hayo.
But still, you have great instruments and libraries!

I agree with MykeJB above ! Quote : "Ads in NA don't really bother me. It's not like it's getting in the way of anything or have to look at NA every time I open up a DAW or load an instrument."
I think that both placement and frequency of presentation means a lot but I also think that the aesthetics of presentation matters a lot as well as I think that it matters a lot to let user feel that there is at least some choice in the matter.
The N.I. presentations in the Native Access never bothered me and I think that the recent adjustment of size is nice. I still think though that it would be nice to let user have some control over what type of content is shown though the personalized content is a step in the right direction then the user may not necessarily see the content as personalized. I mean , for weeks I think Corel spammed me with upgrade offers on my desktop and I honestly do not care if it were personalized (not that I think that the desktop pop-up spamming is the same in anyway as the showing of 'possibilities' and 'opportunities' in the 'info area' of N.A.). With respect to personalization then I think that those that are really strongly against even very well designed personal approaches in N.A. then they are never going to be happy unless the 'info area' (which I think is the best designation) can be turned into a non-info area or an area that user can use to show like a picture of their cat , their loved one(s) or what they worship (I of course mean their favorite music related artist)(yes I'm a regular Dave Allen when it strikes me ! 😋 😎).
For I personally then the point 1, 2, 3 sounds really great and as if N.I. are putting a lot of thoughts into it ! (Ref. : including community events, product insights, sales/deals/offers, launches, various content, releases, etc.)

Check to see if your Mac's Private Relay is on, if so turn it off. I had the same issue and this fixed it.
