Virtual dj to detect the dj device but mix with traktor
I once saw a dj using traktor and he also had the virtual dj open to detect the controller. He told me: I only have the virtual dj to detect the controller but as you are seeing I mix with traktor.
Does anyone know how to do it please?

The FLX4 doesn't require a connection to the VDJ before starting traktor. Some Numark and Akai gear does.
It is a matter of sending Sysex message to disable the demo mode which Traktor is not capable of generating that type of message.

Well you can connect lots of DJ controllers already. All those that are natively supported, all those that have mapping available......and even ones that have no native or third party mapping - you can map it yourself.
There's no need to involve VirtualDJ for any of the above. Not that it would help anyway.
Let's approach this from a different angle. What controller was the DJ using when you saw this?

I can connect many but not all. Pioneer I can connect 2 mixers, no controller and almost no all-in-one DJ. For you it is not necessary because you will move with your controller. I was using ddj flx4

I didn't ask what you were using, but anyway - there are various mappings available online for the FLX4.

I know there is mapping but not all of them work and it is not practical to arrive at a site and start installing the mapping. With the mode that I say you just have to turn on the virtual dj (virtual dj has almost all the mappings on dj devices) turn on traktor and do your work. I know it's possible because I've seen it.

You said "I was using" which others will read as what YOU were using, not what the person you saw was using.
Lost in translation maybe.
You assume that it's possible people someone told you, but I don't see how that could possibly work.
As I said in the other thread, open VDJ with a controller connected and it will assign the controller to use with VDJ - other software will not be able to use it at the same time.
Even if that wasn't the case, I don't see how mapping in one software can magically create mapping in another. It doesn't work like that.

@Eric What FLX4 Traktor mapping does not work? -maybe you didn't install it properly.
Note that installing the TSI is done only once and not each time you start Traktor.

There are mappings for flx4 that work perfectly in Traktor, but as they are paid you can't share the links in this forum, if you search in google you will find them quickly. Some of them include installation manuals.
