How to install Native Access 2 in Windows 11 in a non-admin user account

It is impossible to install Native Access 2 in a non-admin user account of Windows 11. I get an error message about permissions, but even if it is started as admin, it never installs it in this user account. If I install it from the admin account, then it is installed only in the amin account, but not other account.

What can I do?
Thank you.

Should not need admin at all.

This would imply that every user worldwide would need admin and that is simply not the case.

Some screenshots would help. But I think there is something else going on here.

Thank you for your response, but I never had this "Uninstall error".
It is a brand new computer, so there is no need to uninstall anything.
I cannot select any product, because no products were installed.
I need to install Native Access 2 first.

    The error is about permissions.

You keep saying the error is about permissions, but not actually posting the error.

    Exactly this.

Without the actual error condition - we are flailing in the dark here.

Hello musiq, I sent this as the workaround could also help with this subject.

But, can you please send us the screenshot so we can understand the issue easier and help you to solve that as soon as possible.

    I hope this helps☺️

My first question can be answered without any screenshot.

Is it possible to install Native Access 2 in a non-admin user account of Windows 11?

If the answer is YES, then the next question is HOW.

This appears if I try to run Native-Access_2 as administrator

I just would like to have all music software in one non-administrator account.

(It is a new computer, my old computer still has Windows 10 and Native Access 1.)

You have some major issues if you cannot even run a program from the official Start Menu.

Local admin should not be a requirement as that would mean everyone in the world would need it. Not aware of anything like that.

Hello musiq, can you start Native Access from the Prgram Files > Native Instruments > Native Access folder?

I cannot start the installation file = I cannot install Native Access 2.

That is why I asked: Is it possible to install Native Access 2 in Windows 11 in a non-admin user account?

Nothing is in Program Files on a computer where NI/NA was never installed.

    This error message screen cap

Is coming from the Start Menu - whether you want to acknowledge it - or not.

Native Access 2 was never installed, so nothing is there.

The error message is about accessing (about not being able to access) that path.
This is the standard path where the installer tried to install Native Access 2, but could not.
Permissions were missing to access this path and permissions were missing to install files into this folder (this path). The software is not able to create, copy or move files into this folder where it does not have access.

I have only the installation file that I download into the Downloads folder, but never able to install Native Access 2.

That is why I asked: Is it possible to install Native Access 2 in Windows 11 in a non-admin user account?

"That is why I asked: Is it possible to install Native Access 2 in Windows 11 in a non-admin user account?"

Of course it is - thousands do it every day. Local admin is not a requirement.

Windows - by default - via a default installation - creates EVERY user on every computer world-wide as a standard (non-admin) user for standard security reasons.

Yes - of course you can manually assign "local admin" TO a user account after install (or even BEFORE the actual install via Powershell etc) but that is not the typical norm.

Even the standard Administrator account is now disabled by default on a standard Win 11 Home\Pro\Enterprise installation.

Local admin is certainly still possible - but not out of the box for Joe Average in a typical DAW scenario.

As far as your specific case - and the entries/screencaps/etc you have added to the thread - I believe your actual Windows profile is really torched and these are pretty much impossible to undo manually. None of these errors are common and none specifically point to an issue with Native Access either.

As a second to last resort - you could try creating a brand-new user account, login with that and try the install again

Failing that - the last resort is that your OS is compromised, and you might just be better off by wiping this machine and installing your OS clean - followed by all your software.
