After taking the steps described in PoorFellow's most recent reply, I found that I had not registered my S88 MK2. Once I registered the keyboard, NA would then allow me to reinstall Komplete Kontrol. KK rescanned the directory containing all of my individual product libraries and everything was restored, including recognition of the keyboard. I suspect that my problem resulted from corruption of the path to the external SSD where my library is located.

I am most grateful for all of the help I received and hope that someday I might know enough to be of help to someone else in the community.

My thanks to all members of the community who so generously donated their time and expertise to help solve this issue. I realized that my S88 MK2 had not been registered at the time I purchased it. Once I registered it, the NA app resumed its normal function, allowing me to reinstall Komplete Kontrol. With KK installed, I was able to refresh my library and that restored all of my library products. I think that the problem originated from corruption of the path used by NA to locate my main library. I suggest this because my Mac had no difficulty using other files on the same external SSD that holds the main NA library. In any case please know how much I appreciate your help and the educational tone with which it was given.
