Audio in between applications requires custom drivers, that's not native MacOS (or Windows) functionality but BlackHole is free:

No, Control Surfaces have nothing to do with Audio, only MIDI, that was a suggestion in case MIDi was not working for you.

Thanks - I got this to work after searching high and low for a way to do this. Most of what I have watched or read, is for setting up to make 'beats', but I was really wanting to use the chords function of Maschine and record the midi from that into Logic. Thanks again.

My MIDI in, channel, and out all day “all” but it’s working! If I’m ONLY using maschine and Logic and no other midi, is there any potential downside to not select maschine in the midi in inside of Logic?
