Hello

I've just bought a Mac mini. I've connected to native access and the Mac doesn't recognise the plugins. I've installed rosetta and same problem. How can I get my Mac M4 to recognise the NI plugins?

Thanks in advance.

    Use English !

Have you done all the Mac users must do when using N.I. software ? :

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

Also then please check that iCloud Private Relay has been turned off : Native Access Error Message: "Download failed" (macOS)

Also then do not use Clean My Mac.

And quote Kymeia : if using Sequoia then N.I. apps must be added to the Local Network

What do you mean by "doesn't recognise the plugins" exactly? Is there a problem installing the software? Does the software install but isn't visible as a plugin in your DAW? Which plugins are you having problems with? I have one of the new Mac Minis and everything installs and works ok so it should work for you.

You're looking at the "Update" tab and it's showing that your products are up to date. Can you look at the Library tab as that will show you what products you have installed. What products are you expecting to see that you're purchased?

Also look in the available tab. In my experience that message is just a standard message and only really covers stuff that is no longer being updated by NI (ie discontinued products) but even though I too am on Sequoia I can see products that are already compatible (Maschine, 3, Kontakt etc) alongside products that are not yet (FM8, Battery 4 etc) - although I have those installed too so it will let you do that, and they also work fine for me.

Asking a followup question because I am in the market for buying a MacBook Pro M4 in the next month or two.

The M4, especially when Rosetta has been enabled, should work the same as the M1, correct? I never had a reason to doubt that, but this post kind of made me ask the question.

    Thanks in advance!

Should bit NI doesn‘t offers support on M4 and Sequioa yet for many products. Most stuff should work but as NI hasn‘t tested all combinations yet they officially support only up to M3 by now and only a few products on Sequoia already.

If you rely on NI products running on your new Book from day 1, I would suggest to wait till official support. If you keep your old computer and can continue using it: Support will come sooner or later.

I'm not having any problems here on my M4 Mini Pro running Sequoia 15.2. Even products that aren't in the compatibility list like Guitar Rig run ok so there doesn't seem to be a difference between M3 and M4 silicon.

Okay, thank you both. I don't think I'll have anything to worry about, especially since it will be a few weeks to a month or two before I spring for it.

I've got other fish to fry first, so by the time I get around to making a purchase, it'll probably be on the compatibility list.

Just bought an M4 Mac mini with Sequoia pre installed and, yes, having huge problems.

Some Kontakt libraries are 'seen' others are not. Yes I have NTK Daemon installed but there is no way to turn off iCloud private relay, ie: there is no button/switch visible, any ideas?

To be honest it's not just Kontakt/ Native Instruments, Apple seems to have developed the Mac mini as Fort Knox, it will talk to no one and nothing. The problem is I am a composer, (like most here I imagine), and not a coder and even my techie, who used to be a tech support chappie has been foxed by some of my migration troubles.

The M4 Mac mini has been around for a little while now and I might have hoped NI might have got on top of some of the admittedly labyrinthine problems.

What problems are you having exactly? I'm running Sequoia on a M4 MM Pro here and not having any issues. Is the problem installing Native Access or downloading/installing the products?

Just for reference, I have full disk access allowed for both Native Access and NTKDaemon and that's about it unless some installed software asks for access to external volumes, documents etc.

Private relay is something you get with a paid iCloud account. You turn it off in System Settings, click on your Apple Account under the search bar at the top left and you'll see it under iCloud+ features on the right if you have it.

Hi Mykejb, Thanks for your speedy reply. I do not have a paid iCloud account so does that mean 'private relay' is already off?

Who said we don't offer support on M4 Macs and Sequoia? Many M4 users out there using NI products without any issue. We don't officially support Sequoia for some products but that doesn't mean we close the door. Many assume they have an issue it's because of the M4 but in most cases the issue has nothing to do with the chip or MacOs version used. The only known issue specific to M4 Pro or Max is some Kernel Panics on some systems. A bug was logged to Apple by our developers.
