How to restore ASIO driver for Maschine MK3 on Windows 11?

This morning I opened my Maschine 2 software and went to File > Preferences > Audio to change Driver from WASAPI to ASIO (as I usually do ), but today when I mouse click ASIO from the dropdown, the dropdown just disappears and WASAPI (Shared Mode) remains in the field.

So, from my Windows 11 machine, I went to Apps > Installed apps and I uninstalled all Maschine drivers and Maschine 2 software (except Maschine 2 Factory Library, because it takes a long time to download). I reinstalled Maschine 2 from Native Access (and verified that all the Maschine drivers were reinstalled), rebooted, but still hit the same problem. I also tried going to Device Manager and checking for updates in Sound, video and game controllers, but no luck there either.

Has anyone seen this before? Very grateful for any solution you could suggest.

    You do not have an ASIO driver.

    Your choices are:

    1- Buy any audio card that offers an ASIO Driver.

    2- Download a free, shareware, or paid virtual ASIO driver

    2a- Best choice: Voicemeeter

    2b- Second best choice: Steinberg built-in ASIO

    There are more options. Google it.

    The MK3 ASIO driver was installed automatically on my Windows PC when installing the software. I don't use it as I've got a mikro MK3.

    As far as I'm aware NI software such as Maschine and Traktor automatically installs the necessary ASIO drivers for all hardware options. It's only the most recent DJ products like the MK3 S4/S3/S2 and Z1 Mk2 where this is not the case.

    Maschine does not supply any audio drivers to my knowledge. Especially on Windows

    If you cannot select ASIO - that is a problem with your audio interface driver.

    What interface are you using?

    Thanks for the answer @Vocalpoint . I don't use a stand-alone audio interface - I just plug the usb directly into my laptop docking station. This had worked up until today :-(

    Regardless - If it’s a Windows machine you still have an audio card. Like a Realtek or whatever is built into that laptop. And it still needs a driver. Which still has nothing to do with Maschine.

    Thanks for clarification - I see both Realtek and Intel devices in my "Sound video and game controllers"

    Thanks @Sunborn very helpful. Before seeing this, I did try downloading ASIO4all and that worked, but I'll look into Voicemeeter.

    Guys, if he's got a Maschine MK3 (as per thread title) then he DOES have an ASIO audio interface, which requires an ASIO driver from Native Instruments. This would ordinarily be installed when installing the Maschine software.

    @disasterix please don't use ASIO4ALL. It's not an ASIO driver and you don't need it.

    So first thing to check is if the driver has been given permission to be used by Windows/apps.

    Go to Sound Settings. The list of attached audio devices should be listed. Is Maschine MK3 there?

    Funnily enough, while checking the drivers etc. I managed to replicate your problem. The Maschine software wouldn't let me switch to the ASIO driver list.

    I fixed it by plugging in one of the devices that should be on the list - in this case it was a Traktor Audio 2 Mk2. Selecting ASIO then let me select the correct driver.

    Yep, you are correct, i don't have an MK3 and i got fooled by the image of his control panel, showing only Realtek and Intel and also because some Maschines does not have an audio interface. Your vote-down, fully justified and deserved. 😋
