From the ‘previous’ change log, so the update to the M+ that has NOT been released (yet):

The changelog of the currently in test M+ update includes:

This Maschine Plus update contains the Maschine 2.18.2 App version

You should now be able to adjust sample rate and buffer size directly on Maschine Plus

New kernel version (5.15), which should fix the issues we have seen in the past with some USB Audio class compliant interfaces

Replaced the proprietary texfat driver from Tuxera with the open source exfat driver now available in the kernel

Massive has been updated to v1.6.0

So, will we get THIS update? Or to version 2.18.4, which was released a couple of weeks after posting this change log? And will we get it without the need to upgrade to Maschine 3.0 on desktop?

I think NI skipped 2.18.4 release and went straight to 3.0

I dont think im too happy about spending 80 USD on this "update".

The new sound pack is pretty cool but as someone who recently bought the Maschine + for a very premium price… we should have gotten all this for free.

    hmmmm

Several times I was in your shoes, thinking to sell M+, Komplete and exit NI game. Ut to be honest, Komplete is great, M+ is fun (standalone). Do I use NI stuff always? No. Ocasinally? Yes. But I decided I’ll just keep what I have, use it as hobby when I want it. Update? For a reasonable price yes, when need the update.

Let’s be honest, NI has a good suite of products. No great, just good. But who else has a great product? All good so far. Use it for what you like.

Don’t get me wrong, I also say bad words for NI sometimes, sometimes good as well. But truth is truth. There is a user for every product that exists. Otherwise they would not exist.

At this moment, I am happy that NI released the update. Will I wait for the next one? Sorry, no. But I’m keeping everything I already own to use when I want. Or let it colleft dust… It’s my personal decision anyway. But will I sell it? Hell no! I’ve invested too much to sell NI package for less than half-price.

Well, I dont want to sell it or anything but I still think this update should have been free. There is not much to it. It should have especially been free for M+ purchasers who paid 1k+ for the hardware

Im running the MPC 3 on my MPC live 2 and pretty sure I got that for free. It was an incredible upgrade compared to Maschine 3.0.

With that being said I love the old MPC workflow so not sure how much i dig the new MPC 3

As the provided link to the release notes of version 2.18.4 suddenly redirects to the 3.0 updates, I post this screenshot. Two more versions of Maschine 2.0 where released after the mentioned release notes.

I think it’s important we still get the announced update containing full version 2 compatibility, as version 3 for M+ isn’t guaranteed to be working flawlessly with the M+ in standalone.

Besides that, it’s a paid upgrade, and it’s simply not okay to holdback on a bug fix release and let customers pay for it. Don’t you think @Simon_NI ??

@MaikR no need for a screenshot, just open the Spoiler Warning at the bottom to find all previous release notes. Sometimes there’s really no corporate conspiracy to hide anything from the public. 😉

Also, it was already mentioned by @Matthew_NI that the firmware update including Maschine 3.0 will be free for the M+.

That said, a final 2.18 for the M+ would be most welcome, as I personally currently don’t want to upgrade my desktop Maschine to 3.0.

I'm only interested in the 2.18 M+ update if it fixes the sidechain input bug with User created Reaktor ensembles

What I meant by ‘suddenly’ is that it resolved to the shown information when I initially posted that link 😉 As NI moves on I can see version 2 information is archived, but the discussion is on a ‘final’ update for Maschine 2 on M+. So without the need to upgrade to version 3 (just yet).

I think we’ll first be informed about an upcoming post with some more information on a planned Maschine 3.0 update that will also have some more details on the long awaited update for the M+ standalone that probably will be released somewhere in the upcoming months. The team is very busy, so is the Chief.

I'm in this comfort situation that i have third computer so problaby i gonna test my hybrid setup with M+ but in controller mode. Let's see.

Of course, the sooner there is an update for the standalone, the better. 👽️

I don't own an M+ (only a meager MK3 LOL), but as far as i understand there is a project-compatibility issue between the latest Maschine 2.18.4 desktop software, and the M+ Maschine version?

If so, I would definitely expect NI to bump the Maschine 2 M+ version up to 2.18.4 to achieve compatibility with Maschine 2.18.4 desktop. Simply because they promised that users don't NEED to update to Maschine 3.x if they don't want to, and keep on using Maschine 2.x
