Assistive playing tools

For this section, I think the main requests are obvious, custom Chord Sets, Scales, more Arp options, etc... Polyphonic Step input can also fit this category. There are other more wacky/experimental things people mention a lot but I'd stick with basics for now.
IMO regardless if those are implemented or not I'd prioritize:
- Support for MIDI Out from plugins / MIDI FX.
I reckon many will disagree but with this feature we can choose our own favorite 3rd Party plugin to deal with Chords/Scales/Etc... (Scaler2, EzChords, fancy Arp Plugs, etc...) instead of relying on and/or waiting too long for whatever implementation NI decides to do, which I reckon will never be too fancy because things need to be simple to be displayed on the HW, however, this poses a problem for our fellow M+ Standalone users so it's tricky...
If this could all be done in Reaktor it would be great, as people could make/share their own "Smart Play" tools, heck NI themselves could sell some or make their own Scaler2 equivalent, while at it, sell chord packs, idc... Just give us the option to break out of the current chord sets and for the love of god, make it clear what the key of the Chord Sets is or give users a way to find out! Chances are people who like assistive play struggle with Music Theory.
I don't want to carry a gigantic keyboard around to input some nice-sounding chords that match my project, or struggle to find a nice scale... This combined with an outdated Piano Roll makes everything very painful for users more into programming Music rather than playing/performing it directly into Patterns/MIDI.

- MPE Support (now that Osmose, Roli and a bunch of new controllers and DAW support this)
- More modulation features (think BitWig syle), to modulate settings/param with a variety of modulators
- Probability and conditional triggers for notes/events
- Players (think Rason studios players), where you can automate bass lines, note echoes, arpeggiators with MIDI information.

Would be nice to have a Hold button for a note or multiple notes to allow the synthesizer to play a long note without holding it with a finger.

Being able to load MIDI VST's to control your virtual instruments / synths, etc. would be a lot more practical than adding chord sets, arp patterns, etc., since there are apps, like remidi, ripchord, Scaler, Phrasebox, Cream and many, many others that specialise in this and do it very well. MIDI VST's are often free or very reasonably priced, so having a MIDI Effect before your virtual instruments / synths, much like you can currently have an Effect afterwards, would be the ideal solution in my opinion.

- Custom Chord sets my top request
- Live performance request : Pick and assign a user midi file from a list of user midi files to a group during LIVE performance . One way to assign the correct instruments could be in some pre defined naming conventions. It would be great if that list were sub divided in Intro, verse 1 ..n , chorus 1 .. n , outro.

🚨🚨 custom Coard progressions please!!!
Better file management let me store the files the way I want just like everyone else!!
A simple kit making tool for our own sounds
Key detection for samples!!
Stem separation allow me to remove voices or the bass or the drums simply go look at Serato sample
Recall, if I just played something there should be a capture button much like Abelton live and MPC.
The ability to round robin on a individual pad.. I’m not talking about layering sounds I’m saying for the sounds to cycle on one pad. so if I play a kick that sitting on one pad, it will cycle through the kicks and play a different kick based on the ones that I’ve loaded on that pad.
Can we get a gross beat type of feature on the maschine plus?
The sampler and the audio application should not be two separate applications. They should be one. so basically take the audio function and then give me the ability to chop up a sample in the audio application and then that request is complete. As long as you keep all of the other features that are involved in the sampler.

🚨🚨Stop being greedy NI🚨🚨🚨
You all do not play nice with any third party developers who don’t pay to be part of NKS which only HURTS US THE END USER!!
with Akai, Live and many others many independent developers make some very dope ******!! I simply have to download them and store the in the correct location. Not with NI!! I’ve contacted some and they’ve told me personally NI wants them to be NKS compatible. And this was for a software to automate making drum kits (Kit Maker)… I mean come on NI🚨🚨

I would like to see the import and export of multiple midi tracks. I compose in Reaper but would like the simplicity of just my laptop and Maschine when collaborating with others.

- Lightguide ideas from Native Kontrol keyboards incorporated into Maschine as said above.
- Ability to see scales in pianoroll view along with ability to see notes already used in pianoroll view

Hi!
I use Note Repeat / ARP a lot.
However, it's a shame for live performances that it stops sounding (even with HOLD function) whenever you change focus to other sound. This way it is not possible to start playing PADS (drums and samples) over the arpeggiated sound.
Or at least, there should be a way to play other SOUNDS in pads, like samples, without leaving the actual focus (let's call it a PIN SOUND option). Thanks!

you can actually do this, just MIDI mapping these controls from Channel section to an external midi device
1 -
@Rilkecat how does your suggested PIN SOUND option for arpeggios differ from just pressing record and moving on?

Hey! good question. I will try to put it in words: PIN SOUND (which would keep the pinned SOUND plugin on screen/in focus) could allow you to play other samples or drums, while still having available on screen the pinned sound or Arpeggiator, with its knobs and buttons settings to tweak on the fly.
If you record the pattern, you can no longer play with ARP settings on the fly, as pattern gets fixed. Also you cannot change the chord without having to clear the pattern, or creating and recording a new one (which leads to a sound gap). The drawback is that if you are playing with ARP, you just cannot use Maschine for anything else, because the ARP will stop. Whenever you switch to PAD or KEYBOARD mode, it disables the HOLD function.
So, the main difference, either with a PIN SOUND function (that avoids changing focus sound) or at least, if Arpeggiator does not stop when you change focus, is that the Arpeggiated synth is playing live. Like as if it was a module itself (almost like having an external synth with Arp).
For live purposes, this gives a lot of power to MASCHINE.

Smart chord suggestions, patterns, and progressions. Ie apply pattern suggestions to a progression. Variable length to apply to, 1/4bar or a full section (16 bars?) Toontrack does stuff like that.
Suggest chords from: Parallel scales, passing chords, extensions, dominant substitutions, etc. Suggest progressions for verse, bridge, A chorus, B chorus, middle eight.
Ability to use the above in a selected genre.
Easy audition of suggestion and able to hear what is currently before the new suggestion so we can hear it context.
(Did I hear someone saying AI?) 😂
And show the Roman numbers!

yes and the ablity to save chord progressions like the MPC and chords set that reflect musical styles
