Cant connect my Mx2

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue with my MX2 controller. When I connect it to my PC running macOS 26.5.2, nothing happens and the controller isn’t detected.

I’m using the latest version of Traktor Pro 3. I previously used Traktor with an S3 MK2 and never had any issues.

When I use the Setup Wizard, the MX2 doesn’t appear in the list of available controllers.

When I go to Audio Setup and open the Audio Device menu, I can select Traktor MX2 Core Audio. However, that’s the only place where the MX2 appears.

Could anyone help me, please? Thank you!

You need Traktor Pro 4 (newest version) for the MX2 , in fact then I think that Traktor MX2 comes with a free version of Traktor Pro 4 that you should get when you register the controller with NI.

TP.4.5.0 is needed for overmapping code as well, and since TP4.5.1 provides a critical bugfix, getting the latest version is totally recommended.

This. Earlier Traktor version do not have the code used by the MX2.

Thank you for pointing that out.

At time of writing the above I didn't know/could not remember with what version MX2 got added in TP4 , so I just wrote newest version (I now made an edit and put emphasis in bold on it also)(thank you). But MX2 got added in TP4 version 4.3.

P.S. , of course the correct choice of words would have been latest version of TP4 rather than newest version which could give reasons to misunderstandings , like TP 4 itself is newest version….

I mentioned the bad wording of that FAQ to (I think) Jeremy in the past, but it's still there.

IMO either the question should be " Is it compatible with Traktor Pro 3 software?" (to which the answer is no).

…or the answer should be "It's not compatible with Traktor Pro 3. Traktor Pro 4 is required"
