Traktor 4.3.0 - evidence of new hardware imminent?!

I think a new piece of hardware may be about to be announced.

As with every release I do a code compare of the .qml files used to control screens on the D2, S3, S4mk3, S5, S8 & X1mk3 to see what changes I need to make to the extensive mods I made for my S8 & D2 some years back. There’s usually very little I need to change.

However, with 4.3.0 I've spotted a new folder labelled MX2 containing:

MX2.qml
MX2Channel.qml
MX2Deck.qml
MN2KeyControl.qml
MX2Stems.qml

Maybe a replacement for the F1 is actually close to release?

The code in MX2Stems.qml indicates there will be 8 pads that can mute / make stems active. There’s also indication of applying looping with the stems.

Looking at the other files potentially this new hardware may be a whole system - 2 channel mixer, decks and jog wheel. Or I may be understanding, and these files relate to integration with a connected Z1mk2+X1mk3.

There’s also extensive additions to the ExtendedBrowserModule.qml file so maybe some improved browser integration for some of the recent hardware releases is on its way.

Time will tell I guess :)

Haven't done the comparison with all files yet (will do at a later time), only with the X1 and S4 files. Although now that i come to think of it, extended browser should have been a part of it(?). Anyway, thanks for your insights.

There are new commands for pattern player pattern both for mapping as well as qml commands if you want to add another pad mode for D2/S8. ;)

If you put the work in, you can add as many qml based pad modes as you want. Joe's screen mod for the S4MK3 has pad modes for tone play, instant loops, instant fx, freeze/slicer etc.

Loop recorder sadly has no qml commands available, but with extra effort and some complicated shennanigans you could add the available loop recorder commands in controller manager to the TSI of the S4 to be available and activate them with a qml toggle that also appears in the modifier condition list.

I did this with the new commands for jumping between grid markers for the community performance s4 mod, which also has no corresponding qml command, using a custom TSI.
